Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, the Executive Chairman of Atiba local government on Wednesday conveyed a heavyweight crucial security meeting with all security agencies to address the growing concern about peace and security within the Royal Council.

The meeting, held at the Chairman’s conference room, Atiba local government secretariat complex, had in attendance traditional rulers, community leaders, and all security agencies discussed ways to ensure peace and stability at the grassroots level.


Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem acknowledged the essence of collaborative efforts in maintaining peace and security in Atiba, by establishing a joint security task force to promote relative peace across communities, towns, and villages as well as creating a peace committee to mediate conflicts and land disputes.
“Our administration has ensured regular engagement with all stakeholders through town Hall meetings in direct engage with Royal Council citizens and address their concerns; our feedback mechanism has given us a direct insight to beef up security architecture, especially Atiba villages so that our farmers won’t be scared of herdsmen at their farmland. We need the support and cooperation of every single one of you to ensure that our communities are safe and secure” Wabkem affirmed.


The council Mayor further assured the Stakeholders that the council would provide the necessary support to ensure Atiba becomes the most peaceful council area in Oyo State, South Western Nigeria.
He lauded the Joint efforts and collaboration by traditional Chiefs, Baales, and the CDC committee in sensitizing residents and further promoting socio-economic progress for the benefit of all citizens.

Earlier in his speech, the security agencies applauded the uncommon humanitarian support of the council Boss, stressing that he’s indeed a people’s servant; his unique understanding of governance and results-oriented based on science, logic, and data have been a resounding insight for them to perform beyond expectations.

They promised to ensure that peace forestalls the nooks and crannies of the Royal Council.

Equally, the Head of Oyomesi, Basorun of Oyo land, High Chief Akinade Yusuff Layinka 1, while speaking at the meeting appealed to the youths to be law-abiding citizens, ensure a peaceful atmosphere across the nooks and crannies of the Royal Council.

He urged them not to engage themselves in any acts aimed at disrupting the peace and unity of the Royal Council communities, pacesetter State, and country at large.
