The Executive Chairman of the Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem has sworn in the Son of the Royal Council People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee, Hon. Omotayo Agboola as Special Assistant.

The epoch-making event took place in the Conference room. The Office of the Executive Chairman, Offa-meta Oyo, had in attendance the party stalwarts, leaders, stakeholders, and faithful members.

Omotayo Agboola, a biological Son of Pa. Agboola Tunde Azeez, hailed from Ward 02, while his appointment was made to unify the party, strengthen the value chain in governance, and contribute to the restoration legacy of the Council Chairman, as well as to contribute to the advancement of his policies, programs and developmental plans.

Speaking during the official swearing-in, the council Boss, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, Congratulates Hon. Omotayo Agboola as one of the members of his cabinet in restoring the legacy of the Royal Council.

“In driving progress, innovation, and excellent service delivery, I’m confident that Hon. Omotayo will bring his unique skills, expertise, and perspectives in making valuable decisions to the people we serve”. He said.

The council Mayor, however, lauded the great roles of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE in promoting the party, transforming pacesetter State beyond reasonable doubt, stressing that Pa. Agboola Azeez Tunde has made another strong decision to return officially back to PDP today, being a day his Son sworn-in as Special Assistant.

Wabkem also applauded the contributions of the Atiba local government PDP party leaders, stakeholders, and elders in ensuring unity and peaceful coexistence among the party members and the general populace.
He also commended the personal effort of Senator Alhaja Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu’s interventions in ensuring appointments cut across each zone of the Royal Council, as well as striving for sustainable development in transforming the local economy.

“Our administration would continue to engage the community and run an open-door policy to ameliorate the pains of our community towards gains of democracy. A functioning democracy needs an informed citizenry,” he said.

Also speaking, Pa. Agboola Azeez Tunde, the PDP Board of Trustee Chairman, in a joyous mood, praised God almighty for giving him the privilege to witness today’s epoch-making event.

He said; “Although I tendered my grievances by making unofficial resignation decisions on 19th of July, 2024, from the party based on lopsidedness of appointment of Supervisory Councilors and Special Assistants in Atiba local government. As an Elder statesman, I was not given adequate recognition, which prompted me to write an open letter then.

“After due consultation with me, message from His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, Barrister Seun Ashamu Tna, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide and efforts of leaders and stakeholders in Atiba local government, base on my principle of fighting for good governance and correcting the wrong, today I’m making my official returns to the party as B.O.T Chairman” Agboola said.

In his words, the Vice-Chairman/Sooro Political Head, Hon Badmus Ismail Olaide, praised the PDP stakeholders and leaders in Atiba local government for ensuring unity and peaceful coexistence among the party members.
He applauded the B.O.T Chairman Pa Agboola and the Acting Chairman Alhaji Quadri Olatunji for making significant sacrifices for the party.

He, however, urged new appointees not to put personal interest above Public interest. Saying their administration provides citizens with adequate information on priorities, programs, and activities ensures not only the legitimacy of a government but also institutes regimes of transparency and accountability.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Special Assistant in Atiba local government, Hon. Omotayo Agboola, gives all praises and adoration to God almighty for him to witness another progress in his political sojourn.

He lauded the executive Chairman, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, and his Vice Chairman/ Political Head, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, for their strongest support and readiness to unify the party. Hon. Omotayo, however, commended the party stakeholders, leaders, and his father, Pa. Agboola, for ensuring a hitch-free swearing-in ceremony and official returns to the party.

In attendance were Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide (Vice Chairman/ Political Head, Sooro LCDA), Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, Alhaji Quadri Olatunji, Alhaji Ajepe, Iya Sola, Hon. Mufutau Odugbemi, Mama Akinpelu, all local executives, Ward Chairmen, Mr. Ojebisi Gbenga the clerk designate.
