Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, the Executive Chairman of Oyo East local government, in a bid to revitalize infrastructure and boost economic development, has successfully resuscitated the abandoned Marapco electricity generating plant and earthmoving equipment in the council area.

The generating plant, which had been out of commission for over a decade, has been restored to its former glory, providing a reliable power supply to the council secretariat and surrounding communities.

Similarly, the earthmoving equipment, comprising bulldozers, graders, and excavators, has been refurbished and is serviceable, and repairs such as excavator cats, Low-bed Trailers, and others are almost completed for proper usage and will be utilized for various construction and maintenance projects across the local government area.



This achievement according to the newly swearing-in Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Adeyemi Ibraheem Olojule is a testament to the chairman’s commitment to rebuilding and repositioning the mother of them all local government for sustainable growth and development.


Olojule reaffirmed that the giant step was to improve service delivery and efficiency in council operations as well as to ensure adequate power supply to the council secretariat in carrying out day-to-day activities.
We are determined to leave no stone unturned in our quest to develop our local government area. The resuscitation of the generating plant and earthmoving equipment is a significant milestone in our journey toward achieving sustainable development at the grassroots.
According to the Supervisor for Works, Olojule; “In the course of a thorough inspection, observations were stated, and I made it known that the present Chairman of the council vowed not to compromise quality and standards”.


In the entourage of the Supervisory Councilor for Works during the on-the-spot-assessment of inspection at the council premises were the special assistant on works, Hon. Onifade, Director of Work, Engr. Olagbemiro S.O, Deputy Director of Work, Engr. Onaolapo Agboola and several others.
