The Executive Chairman of the Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem has felicitated Muslims Ummah on the occasion of the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1446.

Hijrah teaches us to let go of attachment to worldly things and focus on our spiritual growth. It also reflects on the story of the Prophet’s hiding in the cave and its lessons on faith, patience, and gratitude.

In a statement released and made available to newsmen, Wabkem urged the Ummah to strengthen relations beyond religious inclination.
The council Boss now called for building bridges, not walls, as the Prophet’s journey encourages us to build bridges between different religious communities, rather than creating divisions.

He appeals for interfaith unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of all faiths, while encouraging everyone to engage in activities that promote peace, unity, and understanding.
Wabkem calls on Muslims to allow the lessons of Hijrah to reflect in their conduct and relationship with people of other faiths.
Hon. Adetunji prayed for the Muslim community to witness more of this celebration in good health.
