A prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and close associate of Governor Seyi Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro, has achieved a significant milestone in his efforts to promote peace and harmony among various stakeholders in Ibadan.
Famojuro’s intervention has successfully brought an end to a longstanding dispute between warring factions within the Food Sellers Association at Bodija Market, a key hub of commercial activity in the city.
The feuding factions were brought to the negotiation table by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Seun Olufade, who initiated the reconciliation.
During a peace meeting held at the Ikolaba residence of Governor Seyi Makinde, the various parties were able to reconcile their differences and find common ground.
Speaking at the gathering, Otunba Seye Famojuro commended the efforts of the stakeholders and praised their willingness to set aside their differences in the interest of peace and progress.
“This is a momentous occasion for all of us,” Famojuro stated.
“We have taken an important step towards building a more harmonious and productive society, and I commend all of those who have contributed to this effort.”
Famojuro’s intervention was warmly received by the market leaders present, who commended his efforts and those of Hon. Seun Olufade in mediating the dispute.
“We are grateful to Otunba Seye Famojuro and Hon. Seun Olufade for their tireless efforts in bringing us together,” said the Chairperson of the Food Sellers Association.
“We have put the past behind us and are looking forward to a brighter and more peaceful future for our market and our community.”
Meanwhile, Otunba Seye Famojuro has long been recognised as a force for good in the political and social spheres of Ibadan.
His efforts in brokering peace at different fora, are just one example of his commitment to promoting harmony and cooperation in the state.
