Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, the Chairman of Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, has marked Democracy Day in style, rallying hundreds of young people to commit to active citizenship and shape the future of Nigeria.
Adebowale sparked insightful motivation as the Agency inspired youths to embrace their roles in governance and democracy.
He emphasized that the governor of Oyo state, his Excellency engineer Seyi Makinde is a true Democrat who believes in the involvement of all and has truly given youth a sense of belonging in his government by assigning pivotal roles to them.
“Truly, he is an ambassador of democracy”. Falana said.
He encouraged Nigerians to remain steadfast on the tenets of democratic governance, and emphasized the power of youth engagement, urging them to take action and make their voices heard.
“Democracy is about the people and young people are the future of our Nation. We must continue to work together to build a society that is just, equitable, and inclusive for all.”
This is the time for a collective pledge to build a more inclusive and just society.
The success of an enduring democracy is the power that resides in the people. It’s a day to remember our collective struggle and renew our commitment to active citizenship.
The chairman therefore called on youth with the assertion that, “Our democracy is a testament to our collective will and determination. Let’s uphold the values of justice, equity, and fairness. We’re a nation built on harmony, development, prosperity, and peace achieving milestones for a better future.”
We are the future! Let’s shape it together,” Adebowale said.
