The Executive Chairman of Oyo East local government, Kosobo, Oyo, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola has Inaugurated the Councilors across the ten Wards in the council areas, calling for progressive legislation to promote the economic well-being of the residents.

The event which took place on Thursday at the council parliamentary hallow chamber had in attendance, the vice chairman and political head, Oyo South-East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Mustapha Wasiu Ademola Waspha, Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGA, Director of Administration and general services (DAGS), PDP stakeholders, leaders, party members, and several others.

Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Oluokun underscores the significance of collaboration with the Legislative Arms to further promote, and enhance rural-urban development.

According to him; “Let me use this opportunity to congratulate our elected Councillors for their success in the last local government poll. Your election is a call to service and discharge of constitutional roles as representative of people from different wards.


“I’m here to openly declare that I have resolved that my administration will be an open one and everybody will be carried along while taking crucial decisions, I hereby solicit your cooperation for this administration in this regard”.
The Council Boss reiterated that “My People, political advancement, socio-development, and economic prosperity of this local government area should be paramount in our minds and strive to achieve it.

He however salutes all the political leaders, party loyalists, and good people of Oyo East for gracing the occasion of legislative council inauguration.
Initiating the maiden Legislative process was constituted by the director of administration and general service. Immediate effect, Hon. Okunmade Ademola Idowu representing Ward 10 moved a motion to nominate Hon. Ajala Yusuff Oyeyinka as the leader seconded by Adebayo Akinkunmi representing Ward Six.
They are;
Leader of the House — Hon. Ajala Yusuff Oyeyinka (representing Ward 02).
Deputy leader of the House — Hon. Oyewole Solomon Olubukola (Ward 08)
Majority Leader — Hon. Salam Kazeem Olaide (Ward 04)
Chief Whip — Hon. Ojelabi Ademola Abiodun (Ward 05)

The leader in his word commended the executive Governor of Oyo State Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE, for promoting good governance in Pacesetter state. He lauded the co-parliament for his nomination and return election as the leader of the House.
Hon. Ajala Yusuff Oyeyinka acknowledged the leadership of Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, stressing that her word of admonishment, and encouragement resulted in today’s elevation in his political sojourn as the leader of the House, Oyo East local government legislative arms.

He promised productive partnership with the executive arms in ensuring economic development across the nooks and crannies of the mother of them all, Oyo East.
Equally, the Director of administration and general service affirmed the elections of the principal officers of the Oyo East Legislative Arms, urged them to make public interest supersede their interest, and draw a synergy of democratic dividends.
