The Executive Chairman of Oyo West local government, Ojongbodu, Oyo, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi has joined numerous well-wishers to celebrate Oyo West children on United Nations Organization celebration of World Children’s Day.
According to a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News, on Monday morning Prince Olukitibi reaffirmed that; “Children are the hopes of every household, community, and nation. They are God’s special gifts to every family, full of purity and innocence.”
He continues, “As a responsible government.at the grassroots level, his first tenure witnessed progressive development in the area of equal and quality education vowing that he does not take children’s matters with levity. Their social and educational development is of the utmost concern to us.
“Our interventions and programs, such as the building and renovations of classrooms distribution of writing materials, school furniture, and sanitation apparatuses across the public primary schools in Ojongbodu; establishment of education task force to ensure effective delivery if quality education is testaments to how we hold Ojongbodu children so dear to our hearts.
“As a father figure and the head of a responsible government at the grassroots, seeing our children happy is a thing of great joy. Hence, in furtherance, we’ll host a memorable children’s day celebration for our children to feel the vibes,” she said.
Prince Akeem Olukitibi said they were happy to celebrate with the children. He described the council first lady as an indefatigable woman with excellent character who loves children.
He admonished the children to shun social vices and to study hard to become great individuals, like Gov Seyi Makinde, Professor Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, and several others.
Prince Akeem pressed further and implored the parents and guardians not to indulge the children in social vices, he charged them to stand forth and make their children the best of the best.
