The Former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State and Ladilu of Òyó land, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Samuel Elegbede, a leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo federal constituency, who died yesterday.

In a press statement made available to newsmen the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom referred to the elder statesman as a lifelong champion of justice and democracy.

The statement reads;
Chief Bayo Samuel Elegbede of Onsa Compound, Apaara, Oyo, Oyo East Local Government, the Agbaakin of Apaara land was a beacon of grace and wisdom.

“ I received with great sobriety the news of Baba Elegbede’s transition. However, I am comforted by the good legacies of the renowned community leader, father, and elder statesman. He was known for his dedication to the welfare of his community and the growth of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party. He was truly a lifelong champion of Justice and democracy.
I extend my deepest condolences to the family he left behind, the political community, and all sons and daughters of Oyo Alàáfin “
