LG Poll: Alagunpopo, OYHA Chief Whip Oyekola, Oyo Energy Commissioner Ashamu, Others Attend as Agunpopo Ward 5, 6, & 7 Zones Declare Support for Atiba PDP Candidate

The Wabkem/Olaide campaign train, led by its Director-general Hon Gabriel Olusegun Oyeleke, was warmly received in the Agunpopo zone yesterday. The zone comprises Ward 05, 06, & 07, amidst pageantry and an intimidating crowd, demonstrating a signal of all-round acceptance for all PDP candidates in Atiba local government ahead of the council elections.

Leaders, stakeholders, elected representatives, political functionaries, High Chiefs, and Supervisory Councilor in attendance included: Alagunpopo of Agunpopo, Oyo Assembly Chief Whip Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, Oyo Energy Commissioner Hon. Barrister Seun Ashamu Tna, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, Alhaji Quadri Olatunji, Alhaji Ajepe, Hon. Goke Azeez, Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, Oyo GLO Hon. Akin Ilyas Alawode, and other dignitaries.

Delivering his welcome address, the Director-general of the Wabkem/Olaide Campaign Organisation, Hon. Gabriel Olusegun Oyeleke, urged the electorate to turn out en masse to vote for the PDP on the two ballots that will be given to them by the Presiding Officer of OYSIEC on election day.

He expressed confidence in the Chairmanship candidate and his running mate’s ability to transform the Royal Council beyond politicking, stating that they’re in a race to provide an equitable standard of living that will ease the residents of the Royal Council.

“Expect dividends of democracy at your doorstep,” Hon. Gabriel assured.

He further used the medium to unveil the Councilorship candidates comprising the Agunpopo zone, which includes: Hon. Ademola Kayode Adeniyi (Ward 05), Hon. Ashamu Yusuff OLALEKAN (Ward 06), and Hon. Oyekan Akeem Oyewale (Ward 07) respectively.

Also, the PDP Party Chairman Hon Kabiru Ashamu and Alhaji Ajepe today showed grassroots support for the PDP candidate in Atiba LG, emphasizing the restoration agenda and articulating the vision of PDP Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates in the weeks leading up to the much anticipated council elections that await all-inclusive governance and democratic excellence.

They lauded the massive turnout, which demonstrated wide acceptance of PDP candidates. “This Spirit of unity, togetherness, and solidarity are what the People’s Democratic Party stands for. We assure you of equal opportunities, infrastructural development, sound healthcare delivery, and innovative ideas in transforming our local economy.”

Equally, Leader Folorunsho urged the party members and candidates not to relent in house-to-house campaigning while lauding the members for showing empathy, unity, humility, and loyalty for the candidates to emerge victorious.

In his goodwill message, the Atiba PDP B.O.T Chairman, ably represented by Alhaji Olanrewaju Quadri, commended the electorates, stressing that the campaign train is “Operation deliver PDP” across the ten wards in Atiba council area.

He stated that the PDP is the only party that seeks progress, development, and improving the welfare of the people without causing them any stress.

“We’ll clear all the 10 wards in Atiba. This is the reign of PDP. We’re glad the electorates are ready to vote en masse. The Awolowo’s legacy is a replica of Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development agenda, while we assure you the same in Atiba,” Olatunji assured.

Also, the Oyo Assembly Chief Whip representing Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, lauded the support of the Alagunpopo of Agunpopo, the lawmaker representing Oyo East/West State Constituency, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, and the Son of the soil, Oyo Energy Commissioner, Barrister Seun Ashamu Tna, for backing the candidature of Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem and his vice, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide for the promise to make a great contribution to the restoration agenda in the Royal council.

The Lawmaker further called on the opposition party to support all PDP candidates based on the rich, practicable manifestos that meet the needs of the masses. He tagged the support “Ife si Ife,” calling on everyone to exercise their fundamental franchise in a way to reaffirm democratic dividends at their doorstep.

In his remarks, the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, sends a message of resilience to the opposition party and urges them to vote PDP.

He lauded the mammoth crowd for their sincere solidarity support, saying together we’ll restore the legacy of the Royal council and make great contributions to community development.

The frontline chairmanship candidate commended the support of the party stakeholders and leaders in Oyo federal constituency, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, for her foresight, God-fearing and just humane in promoting PDP in Oyo zone, claiming that she’s a replica of Seyi Makinde’s sustainable leadership.

He also lauded the support of Oyo Assembly Chief Whip, representing Atiba State Constituency Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources Barrister Seun Ashamu Tna, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, and all leaders and stakeholders of PDP in Atiba.

Wabkem assured of all-round development in infrastructure, healthcare, education, security architecture, and agribusiness to transform Royal Council economy.

The event features the presentation of the official party flag to Councilorship candidates, poetry, and cultural displays in solidarity support for PDP victory
