The Oyo West Traditional Council under the Chairman who doubles as the Baba-Iyaji of Oyo land, High Chief Afonja Mikail has officially endorsed Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi and his vice, Alhaji Nureni Alade Adesola as their preferred candidate for the local government elections slated for 27th of this month.

The official endorsement was disclosed during the council meeting on Thursday while hosting the Chairmanship candidate and members of his cabinet.

Speaking with the journalist, Baba-Iyaji of Oyo land, High Chief Afonja Mikail gave a clear position of the traditional council to adopt the candidature of Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi and Alhaji Nureni Alade Adesola, stating that their commitment to the traditional council welfarism, equitable allocation of resources to masses as well as laudable project commissioned during their three years prompted their support for the re-election bid tagged “Liberation-Continuity” in Òyó West model Council.

“Prince Olukitibi’s inclusive governance approach, commitment to the welfare, transformation in the education sector, health, Agribusiness, industrial training, dividends of democracy, and other laudable projects commissioned has outweighed the previous occupant of the council seat”
“We, the traditional Council emphatically endorsed his re-election bid having X-ray his laudable achievement and personal belief on his manifesto of sustainable legacy promised to deliver for the next three years” High Chief Afonja stated.
Also, Ona-Ishokun of Oyo hailed the People’s oriented policies of the council Boss noting that it’s a true replica of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde’s sustainable legacy in pacesetter State.
In his Remarks, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi commended the traditions council for their sincerity and unwavering support and pledged to uphold his exemplary leadership qualities, promising to continue working tirelessly for the advancement of the council area.
Prince Olukitibi assured them of unlimited transformation in the next three years when fortune smiled on him at the poll. Claiming that the endorsement is a productive nod for him not to relent in excellent grassroots administration being the closest government to the people.
