There was a palpable sense of unity, solidarity, and support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, and his vice, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, along with the Councilorship candidate, as residents turned out en masse to show solidarity and support with maximum votes to ensure PDP victory at the poll.

Isale-Oyo zone voiced their endorsement of PDP’s candidate, citing their track record of deep-rooted connections with grassroots politics.

Speaking at the event ground, the Director-general of the Wabkem/Olaide campaign, Hon. Gabriel Oyeleke, lauded the Isale-Oyo zone for their large turnout to receive the campaign train of the restoration agenda in Atiba.

He further stated that there’s no opposition party in the Royal Council, and PDP remains the choice of the electorates, noting that with their large turnout, it’s a signal of productive victory come Saturday, the 27th of this month.

In his goodwill message, the PDP Party Chairman of Atiba local government, Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, assured electorates of masses-oriented policies aimed to transform the local economy. He admonished the party members not to relent on their house-to-house campaign to ensure all-round victory.

Representing the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Olanrewaju Muhammed admitted that the turnout of Isale-Oyo zone residents shows that opposition in the zone is in disarray. He further mentioned that the mammoth crowd shows the total acceptability of PDP candidates and their agenda to restore the lost glory of the Royal Council to its dignity.

Explaining the purpose of the gathering, the Governor’s Liaison Officer in Oyo federal Constituency, Hon. Ilyas Akin Alawode, hailed the Royal stakeholders for presenting Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem and his running mate Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, as well as all ten Councilorship candidates.

Alawode further admitted that the actions and positive emotions of the electorates today show a message of hope, progress, and development with a brighter future for the Royal.

Alawode admonished the candidates to turn things around when fortune smiles on them and make the dividend of democracy accessible to the masses.

In his words, the lawmaker representing Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, assured that the positive mood of the electorates signifies a show of unity and support for PDP candidates.

“We’re here to celebrate the local government elections; it’s already a win-win for all PDP candidates in the Royal Council and a victory for democracy, as the electorates are clamoring for PDP administration at the grassroots with their people-oriented policies.”

He further asserted that, “Other political parties should wait till the next political decade; this is the PDP reign. Electorates are enjoying sustainable development in the state and clamoring to enjoy a reflection of such at the grassroots level.”

In his remarks, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem commended the zone for their support and readiness to mobilize and vote massively for him and all PDP candidates in Atiba.

He promised to deliver excellently when fortune smiles on him at the poll and prioritize the needs of every community within the council area.

“I’ll be accountable, transparent, and project a voice for the voiceless in meeting the yearning of the people,” Wabkem assured the electorates.

The event featured the presentation of the party flag to the Councilorship candidates, namely; Hon. Ganiyu Abass Ajawesola (Ward 08), Hon. Oluwasegun Gabriel Oyekola (Ward 09), and Hon. Okunlola Abiola Emmanuel (Ward 10).

In attendance were all PDP local Excos, party Chairman Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, Alhaji Quadri Olatunji, Hon. Ilyas Akin Alawode, Hon. Goke Azeez, Atiba State assembly lawmaker, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola.
