…prays for Gov. Makinde, Barr. Lawal
The Turaki Adini of Oyo State, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem Mogaji Adanla, has congratulated the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbdulGaniyy Abubakri (a.k.a Agbotomokekere), on the completion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
Adanla, who also extended his heartfelt message to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and Nigeria, for witnessing the 1st Day of the month of Shawwal, prayed for Governor Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, for keeping Oyo State peaceful during the Holy Month and for the state’s continued smooth operation.
In his congratulatory message on Wednesday, the Turaki Adini prayed to Allah to accept the worship of the Muslim Ummah as an act of Ibadah, just as he called on them to use the opportunity of the season to make more supplications to Allah SWT over the situation of the state and the country.
He remarked that the holy month of Ramadan has provided the nation with a heavenly opportunity for deep reflection, particularly on matters of honesty, accountability, and living a virtuous life.
He urged the good people of Oyo state to continue reflecting on the meaning of Ramadan and to use the occasion to reawaken the virtues of “selflessness, honesty, unity, self-restraint, forgiveness, love and compassion for one another.
Adanla, who is the C. E.O Afia Construction and Building Engineering, however urged Muslims to consider the lesson of Ramadan, stressing the importance of religious tolerance and understanding among diverse ethnic and religious groups in the state.
He said: “I congratulate the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbdulGaniyy Abubakri (a.k.a Agbotomokekere) and the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State on witnessing the 1st Day of the Shawwal and the successful completion of the Ramadan Fasting.
“It is my prayer that Allah accepts our worship as and act of Ibadah and grants answers to all our prayers.
“I want to call on all Muslims and all residents to continue to make supplications for the state and the captain of the ship. Engr Seyi Makinde and his Co captain Barrister Bayo Lawal for the peaceful atmosphere in the state and smooth running of the state on good governance.
“Eid-il-fitri is a time of joy, reflection, and spiritual renewal. And as such, we must continue to reflect on the essence of Ramadan and use this occasion to reawaken the virtues of selflessness, honesty, unity self-restrain, forgiveness, love and compassion for one another.
“May we live long to witness many on earth in good health and wealth”.
