Ibadan North PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Oluwaseun Olufade has shared his aspirations and strategies for local government administration during a radio program on 105.5 Splash FM titled “Ijoba Ibile,” hosted by Abiodun Adewale, popularly known as Mr Double A.
The program shed light on local government administration in Oyo state.
Olufade, a seasoned politician, traced his political journey back to 2015, emphasizing his longstanding commitment to serving his community.
When questioned about his transition from vying for a House of Representatives seat to pursuing the chairmanship, Olufade underscored the importance of grassroots representation, expressing his readiness to effectively serve his constituents.
Addressing inquiries about his packed schedule, Olufade attributed his previous absences to campaign engagements, stressing his dedication to engaging with local stakeholders.
He apologized to Mr. Double A for any inconvenience caused, affirming his commitment to fulfilling his obligations.
During the engaging discussion, Mr. Double A playfully teased Olufade about the ubiquitous presence of his campaign billboards throughout Ibadan North, inquiring about the source of funding for such widespread visibility.
Olufade responded candidly, revealing that a significant portion of the billboards were not funded by him but rather by supporters who believed in his capacity to lead effectively.
Furthermore, Olufade highlighted his admiration for Hon. Sikiru Sanda, the sitting chairman of Egbeda Local Government and ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, whom he met on the same radio program.
According to him, Hon. Sanda has set a standard for them to follow, and by God’s grace, he aims to surpass his achievements. However, he referred to Hon. Sikiru Sanda as a good role model.
Notably, Olufade shared his encounter with adversity, recounting his proximity to the Bodija Adeyi blast and expressing gratitude for divine protection.
When pressed about his plans to tackle opposition candidates, Olufade exuded confidence, asserting PDP’s dominance in Oyo state politics. He outlined his administration’s key focus areas, including education, infrastructure, and boosting internal revenue generation.
Despite Ibadan North’s status as an educational hub, Olufade emphasized the need for revitalizing foundational education and infrastructure development.
Regarding revenue generation, Olufade outlined his proactive approach, emphasizing strategic planning and investor attraction. He envisaged a future where Ibadan North becomes a magnet for investors, catalyzing development and prosperity for its residents.
He was accompanied by his vice, Hon. Ayoade Akeem, campaign director-general Adebowale Falana, Adeniyi Ademayowa, Joshua Oladapo, Abiodun Agboluaje, Hon. Muyiwa Yusuf Anfani, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi, Mustapha Hamdi, Mr. Lateef Adegboye, Oladoye Idowu, Ayo Elemo, and Mariam Oni.
