In continuation of the Ward-to-Ward campaign tour of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo East local government areas, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola and his running mate Hon. Wasiu Mustapha Waspha have intensified their campaign, with party leaders rallying support and urging Oyo East residents to vote PDP across the board.
The rally, held at Alaodi/Modeke Ward three (03), saw the presence of the state PDP secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the state acting publicity secretary of PDP, Hon. Michael Ogunsina, Oyo lawmaker representing Oyo East/West State Constituency, and several others.
Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, greeted by a massive crowd, assured the people that Oluokun Peter Olusola would build on Governor Seyi Makinde’s achievements in the state.
He expressed optimism that Oluokun would emerge victorious in the LG poll and urged them to address any grievances.
Alhaji Wasiu urged residents to vote en masse for PDP across units and wards to attain more prosperous dividends of democracy at the grassroots level.
He then handed the party flag to the councillorship candidate of Ward 03, Hon. Adesina Kehinde, popularly known as Olafat, and the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola.
Former House of Representative member, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde’s good governance and achievements in various areas including Security, Agriculture, Health, Education, Infrastructure, Youth, and Women Empowerment.
He expressed confidence in Oluokun/Waspha’s victory in the upcoming election.
Furthermore, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman, the lawmaker representing Oyo East/West State Constituency, stated the objective of the Ward-Ward Campaign, emphasizing its aim to ensure the message reaches the grassroots.
He noted it as a well-planned strategy from the campaign council to solicit mass support. He stressed Oyo East PDP’s unity and promised to address any misunderstandings.
Other personalities present to drum support for Oluokun/Waspha included Engr. Dele Adedeji, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman of Oyo East/West State Constituency, Hon. Akin Ilyas Alawode (GLO), Hon. Maroof Akinwande, Princess Mojisola Adeyemi, Baba Siju Salam, Elder Emmanuel Oladosu Oluokun, Hon. Mrs. Funke Emmanuel JP, among others.
