Federal Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Rep Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has lauded the defection of the senatorial candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo North Senatorial District, Honourable Shina Abiola Peller, and his followers into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fold.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, noted that Peller took the right decision by associating with a party, which has remained a strong force in the state.
Agboworin, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, noted that Peller won’t regret joining the great party but rather be given an opportunity to advance his political career.
He lauded the governor for facilitating remarkable development of all zones in the state since his administration began in 2019 which, according to him, have made the party enviable for politicians in the state.
According to Agboworin, governor Makinde has portrayed himself as a fair leader with a balanced, equitable and accommodating disposition.
The Rep Member charged PDP members, especially in Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso not to see Peller as a new comer but welcome him and his followers with a large heart to make the party stronger.
The statement read, “I want to heartily welcome my friend and Honorable colleague, Shina Peller into the real progressive party, a decision I am sure he won’t regret.
“I believe his move to associate himself with the PDP is a testament to the party’s capacity to serve as a platform of unity under a progressive umbrella.
“Personally, I believe a lot of things must have endeared Peller to the PDP. Talk of the developments that each zone in the state has witnessed since Governor Makinde came on board among others.
“Apart from that, everyone is aware of the unprecedented and remarkable achievements of the governor in Iseyinland and all the zones in the state. These are things that I believe could have made Peller join our party.
“Having said that, I want to urge the PDP members to join hands together with Peller and his followers for the progress of our party.
“Also, I want to say that this development is a testament to Governor Makinde’s strong acknowledgment as a fair leader whose accommodating disposition is worthy of emulation. I appreciate my boss for playing an impartial politics.”
