Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade is a prominent politician and businessman from Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was born on February 3rd, 1967 in Tamale, Ghana, where many Ogbomoso indigenes migrated to in the 20th century. He returned to Nigeria for his education, attending Okelerin Baptist Primary School and Baptist Secondary Grammar School in Ogbomoso. He later obtained a degree in education from the College of Education, Ilesha.
Hon. Ogunlade is also a successful printer, serving as the CEO of George Ogunlade Nig. Enterprises, a printing company that offers quality and affordable services to various clients. He has been involved in the printing industry for over two decades, honing his skills and expanding his network.
Hon. Ogunlade’s political career began in 1999, when he was elected as a councillor of Ogbomoso North Local Government. He served as the leader of the House from 2001 to 2002, and was re-elected as a councillor and leader of the House in 2004. He played a key role in initiating and implementing various developmental projects and policies in his local government area.
Hon. Ogunlade has also held several leadership positions at the state and national levels. He was the acting state chairman of the Oyo State Former Councilors Forum in 2009, and the Ogbomoso North Local Government Coordinator of Goodluck Jonathan Support Group in 2010. He was a member of the Ogbomoso North Transitional Committee in 2011, and the Ogbomoso North Local Government coordinator for Sure – P in 2013. He was the Oyo State Coordinator for Team Jonathan (TJN) from 2014 to 2015, and the acting chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso North Local from 2015 to 2016. He became the substantive chairman of the PDP in Ogbomoso North Local in 2016, and was re-elected for a second term in 2021. He was also the General Secretary of the Oyo State Forum of Local Government Party Chairmen of the PDP from 2016 to 2021.
Hon. Ogunlade is currently the chairmanship candidate of the PDP in Ogbomoso North Local Government in the upcoming local government election in Oyo State, scheduled for April 27th, 2024. He is confident of winning the election and delivering good governance to the people of Ogbomoso North. He has a vision of transforming Ogbomoso North into a model of excellence, prosperity, and peace.
