The deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal has described the death of the Chief Imam of Tede, Alhaji Ahmad Tijani Adedigba, as a big loss to the league of Imams and Alfas in Oke-ogun and entire Muslim community in Oyo state.

Adedigba, who was also the president general, League of Imams and Alfas in Oke-ogun, died on Saturday night and will be buried today according to Islamic rites.

In his condolence message on Sunday, the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal described the late Adedigba as a cleric of repute, saying that he fostered religious unity, culture and tradition during his time as President, League of Imams and Alfas.

He said: The death of Sheikh Adedigba is a big loss to the Muslim Ummah in Oke-ogun as well as the entire Oyo state because he fostered peace, religious unity, culture and tradition while alive. His preaching at home and his scholarly teaching of Islam will be missed.”

While praying for the repose of the soul of the late cleric, the deputy governor urged members of various Muslim societies to continue the good works Sheik Adedigba left behind, adding “this is the only way to immortalize this revered cleric of Oke-Ogun and Oyo state at large.
