The Chieftains, local executives, and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo West local government have put aside their differences, sheathe swords, and rally around for the continuity of good governance at the grassroots chaired by Hon. Prince Salam Akeem Babatunde Olukitibi and his vice, Alhaji Hon. Nureni Alade Adesola Eleniyan.


The significant endorsement took place at the Oyo West local government Secretariat Hall on Friday, 24th November, 2023, had in attendance the leader and chieftain of the party Baba Atilade Oseni, the party chairman Alhaji Sarafadeen Oyedele Oloyo, all local executives, all youth leaders, all women leaders and Ward Chairmen.


Speaking at the gathering, the PDP Party Chairman in Oyo West, Alhaji Sarafadeen Oyedele Oloyo commended the first tenure of Prince Salam Akeem Babatunde Olukitibi and Alhaji Nureni Alade Adesola, people’s oriented policies on a sustainability plan which further scored them high for continuity agenda.

He admonished the electorates not to be irrational when making a choice for forthcoming chairmanship and Councilorship election in Oyo West and Pacesetter State in particular, noting that the council administrator seeking re-election bid has performed wonderfully well and executed projects that are under human capital development which are part of his strongest signature for continuity in the council area.

“We’ll Deliver across the units, and wards for the Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates” Oloyo assured.

Alhaji Oloyo called on other aggressive members of the party who are fanning embers of discord to sheathe their swords and follow the man who knows the way, an astute public administrator, adding that Olukitibi/Alade is an agent of development, claiming that they’ve changed the facet of the council by making Oyo West center of economic prosperity, a model for others. He confirmed categorically.
Also, Alhaji Saheed Ayobami and Quadri Shina underscore the continuity of Olukitibi/Alade claiming that they’ve so far, performed creditably well in education, rural electrification, primary healthcare services, and potable water supply. While urging them to consolidate more on their second term as well as solidify the party more.


Speaking on behalf of Ward Chairmen, Alhaji Akingbade and Women leader Alhaja Rasheedat Adekunle lauded Olukitibi/Alade for projecting their administration for others to follow. They advocate for upgrades in youth and women empowerment, more dedication to social infrastructure, and a Poverty Alleviation programme at the grassroots level.

In his own words, Baba Atilade Oseni commended the party Chieftains, stakeholders, and local executives for soliciting support for the continuity of Olukitibi/Alade dividends of democracy at the grassroots noting that equal distribution of resources, progressive development, and total transformation encompass the continuity agenda, assuring that it will be business unusual in terms of dividends of democracy.
“Olukitibi/Alade is an agent of progress, their partnership has ensured a verifiable future progress, a good foresight for growth and development”. He said.

In his remarks, Prince Salam Akeem Babatunde Olukitibi lauded the PDP Chieftains, stakeholders, local executives, ward chairman, and youth leader for endorsement galore, support for continuity, and aimed to build on the solid foundation.
“We’ll dedicate our efforts more to dividends of democracy, devoid of nepotism, tribalism, and favoritism, our continuity agenda will shore up the council’s revenue, infrastructural development, an extension of 10km rural road, creation of job opportunities, solidify the party across wards, woos investors in promoting agribusiness, industry as well as creating a conducive environment for business to thrive”. He stated.

Continuing, he said, “We are committed to complementing the tremendous works in Oyo West, youth, and women will shine brighter in our continuity governance” Olukitibi assured.
