The Chairman, of Nigeria Conference of Speakers, Rt Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin has expressed a desire to improve the legislative framework that would create more access to affordable homes for Nigerians.
The lawmaker revealed this move during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Conference of Speakers to the federal ministry of Housing and Urban Development, where the delegation was hosted by the Minister.
Ogundoyin also disclosed that the leadership of Nigeria Conference of Speakers also paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa with a view to deepening synergy between state legislature and the ministry.
Ogundoyin, who is also the Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly equally harped on need for strategic partnership between the Speakers Conference and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
This online newspaper had earlier reported that Ogundoyin had earlier received in courtesy, the minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo at the Conference of Speakers Office where ways of deepening information and communication flow between state Houses of Assembly and the federal government.
According to Ogundoyin; “We equally paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullah Tijjani Gwarzo.
He harped on the essence of partnership between the Ministry and the Conference of Speakers of State legislature in order to help in formulating and improving legislation that will enhance housing and urban developments in our States.
“I am also of the belief that our laws at State levels and across the Country must address challenges hindering our constituents from having access to decent, quality and affordable housing.
The Honorable Minister assured the Executive of the Conference of Speakers of the willingness of the Ministry to work with us for improved living conditions for the electorates.
“We equally paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa who was joined by the Ministry’s Honourable Minister for State, Abdullah Tijjani Gwarzo
“In my address to the two Honourable Ministers, I harped on the essence of partnership between the Ministry and the Conference of Speakers of State legislature in order to help in formulating and improving legislation that will enhance housing and urban developments in our States.

On finality, the Honorable Ministers assured the Executive of the Conference of Speakers of the willingness of the Ministry to work with us for improved living conditions for the electorates.
