The Seyi Makinde-led government in Oyo state has concluded plans to officially commission the completed ultra-modern Adogba Central Mosque in Ibadan.
The commissioning would be conducted on Thursday, November 16, by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, a top government source has confirmed to Westernmirror.com.ng
A top government source who confirmed the development to this online newspaper said, the event would be graced by eminent Islamic leaders from within and outside Oyo state.
Recall that the state government demolished the mosque formerly located at Iwo Road, Ibadan, in 2020 to allow the construction of a bus terminal on the location.
The source noted that the commissioning would be another promise made and kept by Governor Seyi Makinde to the Islamic community in the state.
The source disclosed that although the governor alongside other top government officials is currently out of the country on state assignment, it remained uncertain if Makinde would be back in town to be personally present at the commissioning.
