…All ten Royal Councilors were screened, with Ward Chairmen, leaders, stakeholders, and members showing their support.
It was a moment of relief and joy as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship Candidate for Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (WABKEM), and his Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, successfully completed the much-anticipated screening process of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) today.
The event took place on Thursday at the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital. It was marked by a display of unwavering support and pageantry for the Royal Council Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, accompanied by his Vice Chairmanship Candidate Hon. Badmus Olaide, all PDP ward Chairmen in Atiba, leaders, stakeholders, party members, and many others.
In addition, all ten Councilorship candidates in Atiba local government were successfully screened and cleared by OYSIEC in preparation for the forthcoming elections across the council areas.
After the screening process, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (WABKEM) expressed his gratitude for God’s guidance since the beginning of his ambition and praised the support of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and his great leader and mentor, Alhaja Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, as well as all leaders and stakeholders in Atiba local government.
He stated, “This moment marks a significant step toward a brighter future for the good people of the Royal Council. We will govern as a responsible and responsive administration to complement Governor Seyi Makinde’s infrastructural development strides at the grassroots level. Here in Atiba, we promise a unique approach and good dividends of democracy at its peak!” He assured.
“Along with my running mate, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, and all ten Councilorship candidates, we will strive for a progressive and united Royal Council. We promise to remain committed to the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance. Together, we can and together, we shall serve and lead with distinction.”
He further emphasized that the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) would intensify efforts to conduct free, fair, and transparent council elections across the 33 local governments in the Pacesetter State.
Wabkem now pledged to work tirelessly to bring about positive change and sustainable development for Atiba Local Government and its cherished residents.
