The distinguished Sen. Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu has harped on unity among Artisans, market stakeholders and leaders across all associations in Oyo Federal Constituency to foster development and democratic gains.
Addressing the Artisans and market women, Sen. Sunmonu thanked them for their overwhelming support during the last gubernatorial election and decried the lack of unity within the associations which could deprived them of democratic gains.
She then heaps praise on Gov. Seyi Makinde for modernizing Akesan market by creating an enabling business environment to enable businesses to thrive in Oyo and solicit for more support from market women and men for the success of Omituntun 2.0.
Speaking on behalf of all Artisan, Mr. Abidogun Mumini Abiodun appreciates all the efforts of His Excellency and the dividends of democracy that cut across all the state. He then explained how Governor has been kind to them through the help of mama Senator.
Iyaloja of Oyo, Alhaja Khadijat seeks for the support of all members, and charged them to be prayerful. She also appeals to the government to count them worthy among those that will benefit from the ongoing SafER palliatives and urged them to channel it to the appropriate quarter through Babaloja of Oyo, Hon. Alade Nurein Adesola.
One of the members also stated how a zone is dominating and controlling the affairs of all market women in Oyo state instead of decentralised the power across other zones. He believes through this, benefits will cut across every other zones instead of focusing only a zone.
Present at the event are Iyalaje of Oyo, Dr. Ajadi, Oyo West Chairman, Hon. Akeem Olukitibi, PDP candidate for chairmanship position in Oyo East, all party Chairmen in OFC, leaders and Chiefs.
