…assured residents of adequate Security.

Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Sunday broke silently over sacked Chairman of Disciplinary Committee, Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi a.k.a Auxiliary.

The governor said he has weeded the big stick by dissolving PMS, saying no meaningful activities can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity.

Recall that Governor Makinde through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi last week Tuesday announced the dissolution of PMS headed by the former NURTW boss, ‘Auxiliary’.

Also, Oyo State Police Command on Friday said it recovered 70 rounds of Ak-47 ammunition, 400 pieces of live cartridges (62 expended), 13 pieces of 9-mm ammunition, two SMG riffles with two magazines, and one pump action riffle during a raid at Auxiliary’s house.

Auxiliary has since been declared wanted by the Police in connection with cases of attempted murder, causing grievous harm, arms dealing, murder, armed robbery within Oyo state, and kidnapping at Oke-ogun and Ibarapa axis of the State.

But Governor Makinde while speaking at the thanksgiving service in commemoration of Omituntun 2.0 administration held at St. Peters Cathedral, Aremo, Ibadan urged people in the state not to panic because the government is on top of the situation, adding that government would do all necessary reforms that are needed to be carried out in PMS to ensure all those fomenting troubles were engaged.

He said, “Before the last election, it wasn’t as if there is no thugs, but we called them and tell them that the new Oyo state we want, we don’t want them to fight themselves, we don’t want to fight to break from our garages every time .”

“We tell them, don’t fight anybody, if we were re-elected, we shall ensure we unite you so that everyone can get what belongs to him or her for people and the government to operate in the atmosphere of peace.”

“But one of them said he can’t work with others, so I said two governments can not operate in the state, there will only be one government.”

The governor said it took the grace of God for all his achievements in his first term in office as the governor of the state.

He noted that the most important thing in Omituntun 2.0 is the upgrade o h lifestyle of the people of the state, saying government shall do everything possible to make the upgrade seamless and provide an atmosphere for people to comply.

The governor however thanked the people of the state for the opportunity given to him to serve them once again.

In his sermon, the Diocesan Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocesan Rt. Rev. Williams Aladekugbe said the governor has put his successors in trouble with his achievements as the governor of the state by bringing peace, harmony, and development to the pace-setter state.

He however said they are happy because Makinde is making them proud and never disappointed, adding that the governor has performed and delivered on his promises.

Dignitaries at the event include the Oyo state deputy governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal, Chief of Staff to the governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, Chief Justice of the state, Justice Iyabo Yerima, PDP Deputy National Chairman, (South), Amb. Taofek Arapaja, wife of former Oyo State governor, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, Sen. Monsurat Sumonu, and chairman, of Governor Advisory Council, Sen. Hosea Agboola among others.
