Again, Akeem Jimoh Facilitates Braille, Laptops, To People With Disabilities, In Oyo

The Board Member of Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Honourable Akeem Jimoh Olalekan (A.ka Job Portal), on Wednesday, facilitated working braille and Laptop Computers to the people living with disabilities in Oyo township through the Patrick Iyere Foundation.

It could be recalled that this Oyo young talent politician has used his office to facilitate many projects and job opportunity to the people in his immediate community. Months ago, he facilitated over Hundreds (100+) Car loan to classroom teachers in Oyo town and lots more.

In a statement released and made available to HERITAGEECHO.COM correspondent, the beneficiaries are visually impaired, hearing impaired. While the items distributed are; walking 🦯 canes, recorder, laptops etc.

Speaking during the presentation of items to the disable, Honourable Akeem Jimoh affirmed that he’s highly motivated with the notion tagged “There’s ability in disability”, he noted that people with disabilities represent a significant percentage of the community adding that, they have long faced considerable barriers to equal participation and involvement in the society.

He said, the main reason why he facilitated the equipment is to enable them active in the community and teamed up with the three barriers, namely; access to information, social attitude and behavior and lastly, built environment.

“with the working braille and laptop computer given to you today, I’m strongly believe that, as a Students of federal College of education (special), Oyo, it will invariably help alots in your academics and as well in mobility cum personal care” he urged

The Tescom board member now used the medium to advised the beneficiaries to use the equipment given to them judiciously adding that he will continue to render his assistant to them, whenever the needs arise.

Also, in her word of encouragement at the occasion, the permanent secretary, Oyo State teaching service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Bisi Oderinde, urged the beneficiaries to use equipment given to them well, avoid spoilt and as well teamed up with their colleague in active participation in lecture and class activities.

Equally, the beneficiaries appreciated the kind gesture of the TESCOM board member, Akeem Olalekan, adding that the support and assistance come at the right time. In furtherance, they prayed for the successful tenure of the board member.

In attendance are; the Oyo Tescom zonal head, Mr. Tunde Suulola, Director of Admin, Mr. Adekunle, the management team of Patrick Iyere Foundation and several others.
