LG ELECTION: Arowosaye Saheed Arosad, Takes Campaign Train To Villages, In Oyo East LCDA

After a scintillating flag – off of what appeared to be a mother of all campaign rallies, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in Oyo East Local Government for the forthcoming local government election, Hon. Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi, Campaign Train stormed all the villages in Oyo South East LCDA yesterday.

The colourful and successful campaign took place at Omo’Oba village market square. Heritageecho.com, recall that the similar events took place on Sunday, 9th May 2021 at Ilaka Street, Oyo, Oyo State.

On their arrival at Omo’oba, the venue of the epoch – making event, the incoming Chairman and his entourage were warmly received by a mammoth crowd who led the entourage to the waiting hands of both Baale Omo’Oba and Baale Loogun respectively for royal blessings. From there, the entourage danced round the village square before moved to the Primary School field, the venue of the occasion where hundreds of PDP supporters were eagerly waiting for Hon. AROSAD and his campaign train.

In attendance at the colourful occasion were Hon. Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi (PDP Chairmanship flag bearer), Hon. Prince Bamise Alabi (PDP vice Chairmanship candidate for Oyo East), Mr. Mojeed Ganiyu (PDP chairman, Oyo East Local Government), Hon. Dr. Moruf Akinwande (Former Member, House of Representatives and former Chairman, FCT Secondary Education Board, Abuja), Alhaji Ejalonibu Akinwumi Salaam DG, AROSAD Campaign Team, leaders and members of our great party.

While welcoming the Campaign Train, Mr. Kabiru Ayobami, the Chairman of I. M. G. D. extolled the virtues of Hon. AROSAD whom he described as an enigma that one may not understand until one gets closer. He appealed to the incoming Chairman to develop all the rural communities.

In his remark, Mr. Ganiyu Mojeed thanked all for honouring the event. He appealed to all residents to come out to vote for PDP on May 22nd 2021. According to him, the lingering issue of limitations between the APC and the PDP had been dispensed off by the Supreme Court, hence the coast is clear for the election. Hon. Ejalonibu thanked Hon. AROSAD for given him and his team the opportunity to organise the campaigns. He enjoined the residents of the LCDA to be grateful to Hon. AROSAD for considering their son, Akin Alawode, a worthy member of the Campaign Group. He said that such gesture was a demonstration of love and trust he has for the rural dwellers. He therefore charged them to vote massively for PDP IN all elections as Alawode had promised Hon. AROSAD of 10, 000 votes from the LCDA.

The climax of the occasion was the speech delivered by the founder and leader of I. M. G. D., Akin Alawode, who traced the history of Isokan Movement as an offshoot of AKOOBAA to the era of Hon. Kamorudeen Abiola Shittu. He appealed to the in – coming Chairman to empower people through political and economic empowerment. He stressed that no party has ever made more progress in the grassroots than PDP.

In their reactions, the Baales acknowledged the Chairman’s father, Late Arowosaye for his contributions to the growth and development of Oyo and referred to him as one of the few pragmatic leaders that Oyo has ever produced.

They urged the incoming Chairman to emulate his father. All the speakers acknowledged the efforts of late Kamorudeen Abiola Shittu and therefore pray for his soul to rest in peace.
One of the stunt leader of the party, (Hon. Maroof Akinwande) also expressed optimism and assured the masses of huge benefits once the Chairman attains the power and also, promised the villagers to be expecting dividends of democracy during this present administration most especially on Security of lives and properties.

The man himself, the incoming Chairman, Hon. Arowosaye Saheed AROSAD thanked Almighty Allah and appreciated His Imperial Majesty for the support given to the present administration in Oyo state. He vowed to set up a committee that will be looking into the affairs of the villagers and the less privileged when asume office. He also reaffirmed his commitment to give full support and promised to execute tangible projects for people’s benefit.

He promised to set up a committee which will be chaired by his Vice Chairman, who will be LCDA Chairman and villagers will also be members of the committee. He finally concluded that He will be having days spent in village so as to know where to touch more.

Representatives from all nooks and crannies of Oyo South East LCDA such as Omo Oba village market square, Abuja Kan; Bodija; Obasere; Alabi Olorunda; Temidire; Akoda Igbo Olosun; Ajagba; Olori; Gudugbu; Apaara; Idi Iya; Owode Elete; Ona Aka Igboga; Laroyan; Emi Abata; Oniyanrin; Alawusa; Adebimpe; Idi Ito; Ekewa etc. villages, covering Wards 1 – 10 of Oyo East Local Government.
