
The Oyo state Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a couple, at Alabameji Village, Ibadan, adding that investigation had commenced into the matter.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said: “A couple was abducted at Alabameji Village, Sanyo Area yesterday, March 29, 2021 at around 2:20pm in their farmland.
“The DPO and team immediately razed to the scene for on-the-spot assessment. Investigations have commenced and on the trail of the hoodlums to arrest them and equally released the abductee.”

On Monday, gunmen reportedly kidnapped three persons in Oluyole Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The trio, who were kidnapped at two different locations within the council, included a farmer and a couple who are also into farming business.
This came two weeks after the abduction of about four persons in the same local government area. Recall that about four people, including two bankers, were kidnapped on the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Road a few days ago.
Sources told The Guardian that the couple were abducted from their farm located at Alabameji Village, Sanyo area, while another man who is also a farmer was abducted at Soka area.
The two communities, Sanyo and Soka, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, are closer to each other.
The whereabouts of the three people kidnapped have not been ascertained.
