The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday has arrested and detained a chieftain of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) suspected to be involved in the gruesome killing of late Dr. Fatai Aborode.

According to Goalpoacher report, the suspect, pa Olawuwo is said to be detained at Dugbe Police Division.

Meanwhile,  party chairmen from Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North LGAs, Alhaji Yisau Tapa, former caretaker chairman Iliasu Ololade as well as Mr Obey from Igboora were spotted at the police station.

It would be recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde had declared that herdsmen were not responsible for the killing of Dr. Fatai Aborode.

Though, many people believed that the PDP chieftain was killed by suspected herdsmen, Makinde, however, said that that herdsmen were not responsible for the killing.

Makinde who noted that his interaction with the father of the deceased, insisted that the killing is “political”.

Makinde claimed he spent a night in Ibarapa geopolitical zone recently, adding that he interacted with the father of the deceased, who revealed that the death of his son was political.
