The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Mineral Development Agency , Hon Abiodun Oni, on Friday reacted to a viral video that filtered social media on Thursday regarding a purported illegal gold mining activities going on in Ibadan.

Oni, who issued a statement on the said video, noted that the visual will be subjected to proper scrutiny to ascertain it authenticity.

The Governor’s aide emphasized that the information contained in the video is whose source is not ascertained will be investigated thoroughly.

The video had shown a particular location where the illegal mining was ongoing that the Fulani were the ones behind the activities until they were allegedly sent packing by indigenes of the area.

Oni said the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde which is determined to improving the economy of the state would not fold its arms and allow unscrupulous elements
derail his determination of taking the state out of poverty to prosperity. He added that the peace and security being enjoyed by citizens and residents of the state would not be allowed to be jeopardized by those hellbent on creating a chaotic atmosphere in the state.

Hon Oni called on anyone with useful information on the alleged illegal mining to come up with verifiable and incontrovertible information on the activities should endeavour to call or send text messages to the following cell numbers.0803 579 2892, 0805 640 6082.
