The Oyo State Government, on Wednesday, through the ministry of local government and chieftaincy matters, has ordered local government Chairmen and LCDA Caretaker Chairmen to vacate their office and handover to their various Head of Local government administration (HLGA) today.
According to the memo signed by the honourable Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. (Chief) Bayo lawal, added that it was in accordance to the directives given to them officially by state house of assembly to vacate the position immediately after the expiration of the three months extension.

The memo reads;


‘I wish to refer you to the above subject and which to inform you that following the expiration of the three months (3) tenure extension given by the house to all Caretaker Chairmen and Committee which expires 19th of March 2021 to vacate office from the council
2. To this end in order to continue the activities of the local government councils in the State, the local government Chairmen Should hand over the administration to their heads of local Government Administration in their respective Councils before vacating office.
3. Consequently, the heads of local government Administration are hereby directed to take over the running of activities from the 19th of March 2021 pending the assumption Of offices by elected officials.
